Glorious Grass

When I touch grass, I touch infinity. It existed long before there were human beings on the earth, and it will continue to exist for millions of years to come. Through the grass, I talk to the Infinite, which is only a silent force. This is not a physical contact. It is not in the earthquake, wind, or fire. It is in the invisible world of nature of which I, too, am a part. – George Washington Carver

GRASS..it is ancient, it is everywhere..from the Arctic circle to savannahs.

1/3 of Earth is covered in Grass…..the highest civilisations have coincided with the best grasslands: Egyptians, Chinese, ancient Greece.

The word for grass in Mandaringras2 is a picture of two people kneeling at an altar, arms raised skywards: the blades of grass pushing up through the Earth, the Earth is the altar.

The oldest word in Hebrew for grass is “Deshe”. One interpretation of it is: “Through the lowest of kingdoms on earth is the doorway through which we may be regenerated and come towards perfection of being.”
